- About Brian -

     Pianist, composer and recording artist Brian Golden was born in New York City and resides in Colorado.  As a solo pianist, Golden's albums have aired on music networks and radio stations and music throughout the world including Pandora, Spotify and YouTube.  Other streaming partners include Rumblefish, ITunes Match, Google Cloud and Rhapsody.  Among his many musical influences he includes J.S. Bach, Frederic Chopin, George Gershwin, Bela Bartok, Glenn Gould, Keith Jarrett, Hoagy Carmichael, Scott Joplin and The Beatles.

     In addition to his piano albums, Golden has also written music for dance and film and produces Ballets for Children with his wife Christy Golden.  Christy is a classically-trained dancer, illustrator and award winning author.  Their album Fairy Light, is a recipient of a 2015 "Parents' Choice Award."  Other artists that Golden has worked with include Denver choreographer Kim Robards, Boulder choreographer Ana Claire and children's entertainer and recording artist Linda Arnold.  Golden has provided music for Denver filmmaker Gwylym Cano, as well as for KRMA TV, Denver.

     A classically-trained pianist, Golden is a graduate of the Crane School of Music at Potsdam, New York where he earned the Performer's Certificate in Piano as well as induction into the honorary music organization Kappa Delta Pi.  Golden has worked with many ballet dancers from around the world including principal dancers John Prinz of the American Ballet Theatre, Mikhail Tchoupakov of the Bolshoi Ballet, and Robert Sher-Machherndl of Lemon Spongecake Contemporary Ballet, as well as for modern dancer Bill Evans.  He has also worked for the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance School, the University of Colorado, Boulder Ballet, and the Colorado Dance Festival.

     Additionally, Golden has composed music for the documentary film “Keepers of the War,” for Magellan Productions and has recorded original music for eight silent films for Boulder's Channel 8 television.  Golden is currently completing work on his 24 Preludes for the Piano in Major and Minor Modes, in the tradition of J.S. Bach and Frederic Chopin. 

    A former Artist-in-Residence with the Colorado Council for the Arts and Humanities, and a teaching artist for the Aesthetic Education Institute of Colorado, Golden has performed for Young Audiences, for KRMA TV, KHIH and KVOD radio stations, for numerous concerts at the famed Stanley Hotel in Estes Park Colorado, and has appeared on Channel 9's Good Afternoon Colorado.  He is the Music Composition Coordinator, and Instructor of Piano and Music Composition at Colorado Academy in Denver,  Golden served for five years as the State Chair for the Colorado Federation of Music Clubs Junior Composers.
